Join us at Soaring Arts on Tuesday, January 21st from 5:30-7:30 to learn the basics of linoleum printmaking.
In this class, you will learn how to hand-carve and print one to two mono-color linoleum block prints from start to finish. By the end of the session, everyone will have a reusable carved block and at least six 4”x6” printed cards to take home.
We will have several image references for you to choose to use or feel free to bring a few sketches or drawings along as well. For the beginner class, one color images with lots of contrast work best.
This class works for both beginners and experienced artists who would like a refresher course or the challenge of a new medium. However, it does involve using cutting tools to carve the linoleum, so it is not advised for young children unless they will be working one-on-one with a family member or parent.
The class fee is $28!
This includes valuable instruction and all the supplies needed to cut and print 6 cards of your choice. You will also take the linoleum block home with you so that you can print additional items if you’d like.
